Seasons are one of those things that give people from a country like Colombia nice memories of a long stay in a country like the United States. Each season has its own unique traits, and changing weather is also something that makes me appreciate how people here deal with endless transitions from warm days to windy, cold days and warm again and adapt to different circumstances.
As someone said: “Change is the only thing that is bound to continue”. Well, my apologies if this free translation of a free version of such an important fact of life remarked by someone whose name I don’t even remember is not what you were expecting in a blog like the Atlas Corps blog. But it’s really stunning how department stores can mutate so easily from scarves, boots and heavy coats to colorful flip-flops and swimsuits. Sometimes it feels like each season brings out a different personality inside you.
As you can anticipate, my experience with the weather here has been enjoyable and full of learning for the most part, and even for those awkward moments I’m not going to talk about in this occasion, I can assure you, yes, they are memorable. Of fall, I like wind and red leaves. Of winter, I like the quiet fall of snow. But now winter is over and I am looking forward to seeing the long sunny days and squirrels back from their hibernation break. |
