How we won last time:
In January 2008, Atlas Corps motivated 1,715 individuals to give $10 or more during the first America's Giving Challenge. Due to such tremendous support, we not only raised $33,000 in donations but we also won the $50,000 top prize for having the most unique donors. As a result, Atlas Corps received attention from both the New York Times and the Washington Post.
Support for Atlas Corps during the first America's Giving Challenge allowed us to:
1) Double the number of Fellows from 6 to 12, and then to 13 Fellows (from 2007 to 2008 to 2009)
2) Grow to 70% sustainable based on our host organizations' cost shares (up from 40%)
3) Receive 550 candidates from 67 countries, of whom we selected Fellows from 8 different countries (up from 2 countries in the first class)
4) Receive recognition from the Brookings Institution as a "best practice" in international exchange
If you support Atlas Corps:
1) 100% of your donation will be invested in nonprofit leaders because the cost share covers our administrative expenses
2) You will cast your vote for a world where individuals are respected regardless of borders
3) You will empore nonprofit leaders who are addressing our world's most pressing social issues
If we win:
1) Atlas Corps will be able to launch a March class of Fellows
2) We will expand our Fellowship program to 20 talented nonprofit leaders
3) Atlas Corps will become 75% sustainable
4) With another $80,000, Atlas Corps will be able to support an additional 8 leaders for one year.
