About AYUDA:
American Youth Understanding Diabetes Abroad, Inc. (AYUDA) is U.S. citizen sector organization that was established in 1996 and is a pioneer in providing diabetes education to children and adolescents. Since 1996, AYUDA has worked with local diabetes communities to develop and implement sustainable diabetes programs primarily throughout Latin America. Each program unifies diabetes communities through participation in educational, recreational, and advocacy programs while simultaneously teaching youth the leadership skills necessary to act as agents of change. To date, AYUDA has organized educational programs in 4 different Latin American countries, while incorporating over 200 volunteers and representatives from diabetes communities in over 20 different countries. Scope of Work:
AYUDA is seeking an individual with experience in web design and IT management skills who can be manage AYUDA’s website, provide IT support to AYUDA staff and fulfill various other technological tasks, such as:
  • Design and maintenance of the AYUDA website
  • Establish “server” and electronic filing system for AYUDA staff access
  • Provide troubleshooting for personal computers and office IT for AYUDA staff
  • Design, reformat and general assistance with all AYUDA marketing materials for events, prospective donors and volunteers materials
  • Launching new logo for AYUDA
  • Technological upkeep and effective use of the AYUDA donor database
  • Format final versions of AYUDA materials for presentations and public viewing
Qualifications:
All Candidates must have 4-8 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in business or information technology, and speak and write English fluently. The best candidate would have a background working with health citizen sector organizations and doing website design. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus. Ideal candidates will have a proven ability to generate fresh ideas and creative solutions to difficult problems. AYUDA seeks candidates who:

  • Additionally, the best candidates will be highly proficient with all Microsoft applications, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver (web design software). They should have a high level of motivation / enthusiasm, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and resourcefully, but enjoys working as a team member, interest in social entrepreneurship, citizen sector organizations, youth leadership and empowerment, education, and health. (an interest in diabetes or chronic conditions is preferred but not required).
