Welcome to my third blog relating the US must have apps.

In the last blog, we have shown you how to install and use Uber app. Uber isn’t the only available taxi app in the US, there’s actually a competitor called Lyft.

Why do I need Lyft if I already have Uber?

Well, let’s say you will book a flight ticket while you are living on a budget, would you select the first ticket you find on the net, or will you look for that flight in different airlines websites and choose the affordable one, the second options right? So that’s why you should have both Lyft and Uber installed as this will allow you to compare fare prices and choose the affordable one.

How to install Lyft:

Please click on the following links or search Lyft on Google Play store, or Apple’s App Store:

Apple iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lyft/id529379082?mt=8

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.lyft.android&hl=en

How to set up Lyft:

After installing Lyft, you’ll have to follow these steps:

1- Touch sign in and add the required information. (Name, phone, email…etc)

2- Touch, create an account and add your Visa card number.

You are all set.

How to use Lyft:

Using Lyft is pretty similar to Uber app, you can follow the same steps as for Uber, the only thing that changes is the app design/ platform.

Now that you have the app, created an account and added your payment details, it’s time to take your first ride.

1- Open Lyft app.

2- Touch where and type your destination (Make sure it is the right destination, destinations can be confusing.

3- Once you have selected your destination, Lyft will show you three or more prices for the same trip:

A) Lyft Lyne, Cheapest option available it is a shared ride but the driver will come to your location.

B) Lyft Plus, it’s more expensive as it’s not a shared drive.

Once you select your best option you can add more riders in case you are not alone and confirm ride.

You will get a notification on when your driver will arrive and where to meet with them depending on the price option. Make sure you are outside at the time when your driver arrives as they may leave without you if you aren’t there, you will have 1 min wait time for Lyft line and 4 min for Lyft.

Now you know how to use Lyft.
