Summary:
A new international nonprofit organization, Atlas Service Corps, is seeking a candidate to immediately fill a critical short-term contract as the interim Colombia Country Director for three months. The primary purpose of this position is to recruit and vet candidates to become Atlas Corps Fellows in the United States . Fundraising, media, partner development and some administrative duties will also be required.

This is a contract position for 30-40 hours a week and would pay approximately 1-1.5m Colombian Pesos a month (about $550). Candidates must be bilingual, have a Bachelors Degree, and some experience in the social (nonprofit/NGO) sector. After completing this three-month contract, the candidate would be eligible for becoming the full-time Colombia Country Director for the next year with a potential for an increase in salary. Atlas Service Corps is an international nonprofit organization that takes rising nonprofit leaders from Colombia and India to volunteer at U.S. nonprofit organizations for one year. The Fellowship will pilot this summer with two Fellows from Colombia and five from India . The Fellows will work on a wide variety of social issues such as the youth, health, education, environment, women’s rights, etc. The mission of the organization is to develop a global partnership for development through the integration of the nonprofit sector.

Opportunity:
Atlas Corps seeks an ambitious, talented, hard working individual who is interested in helping develop Atlas Corps from an idea to a large international organization. This individual would start out on a three month contract, developing contacts and building the program in Colombia . This position will immediately start recruiting and vetting applicants for the 2007 Fellowship. The position will also need to develop a strong network of nonprofit organizations, foundations and businesses in Colombia to raise awareness and funds for the program. If certain benchmarks were achieved after three months, including raising additional resources, the contract would be extended for one-year with a potential for future salary increase.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have a variety of work experience, especially with nonprofits, but also with businesses and the government. Candidates need to be willing (and able) to fundraise, be outgoing and believe in the cause. Excellent written and oral communication is a must and candidates must be bilingual (Spanish and English). Candidates need to be flexible on job responsibilities and working conditions. Event planning experience would be beneficial. Atlas Corps is a new organization with limited resources a small office (located near Zona Rosa), and ambitious goals.
