Role Description: TechnoServe is seeking a highly motivated, resourceful and experienced nonprofit professional from Colombia or Ecuador to join the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Division as a TechnoServe-Atlas Corps Fellow. Candidates must have 3-8 years of relevant experience, a master's degree, and speak and write English and Spanish fluently.

Primary Purpose and Function:
  • Provide the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Division with program development, programmatic and administrative support, including reporting, knowledge sharing, and logistics management.
  • Assist the LAC Division Program Analyst with LAC Division operations, to achieve the Division's objectives within the strategic plan, and increase the effectiveness/quality of the Division's programs and projects.
  • Assist the LAC Division Director of Project Development with the development of new projects.
Responsibilities:

Assist the LAC Division Program Analyst to:
  • Provide program management support to a portfolio of country programs and divisional projects;
  • Monitor, review and report on country program performance;
  • Analyze and document client business performance, especially with regard to core indicators, the return on investment/cost of assistance, and stories about TechnoServe's work;
  • Maintain and update LAC Division databases;
  • Support the Division's regular contact with donors and other partners. Provide representation at meetings, functions and other events as required;
  • Assist in managing any short-term consultants, interns and office administrative assistants, as required;
  • Administer the logistics of the LAC Division, these include reservations for travel and accommodation, visa acquisition, recruitment, contracting, fielding and backstopping of consultants;
  • Track developments, current trends in international business and economic development and best practices;
  • Respond to requests from marketing, finance, office of the president, and the Board of Directors;
  • Assist with preparation for regional and US-based TechnoServe meetings.
Assist the LAC Division Director of Project Development to:
  • Undertake analysis and data gathering for the preparation of proposal.
  • Write proposals and new business development strategies.
  • Manage the proposal writing processes of key opportunities with public/private funding, at the divisional level.
  • Provide technical guidance to the field and divisional team in preparation of designated public sector proposals.
Communications:
  • Assist with the flow of information regarding TechnoServe Africa program operations through interactions with stakeholders.
  • Communicate externally with Embassy/Consular offices, airlines, hotels and travel agencies.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in international relations, communications, journalism, economics, business administration or other relevant subject.
  • 3-8 years of work experience in development and the private sector in Latin America.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
  • Proven team player with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
  • Excellent PC computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet.
  • Ability to anticipate demand, manage multiple tasks/projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Native Spanish speaker; working knowledge of Portuguese preferred.
  • English language written and spoken fluency.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, as necessary.
  • Strong ethical fiber.
