![]() Gared Jones, Ashoka India (Board Treasurer) Gared Price Jones is a Director at Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, an organization that invests in social entrepreneurs in more than 60 countries. He has been leading Ashoka’s Youth Venture Gared Jonesin India for the last 5 years, expanding opportunities for youth to launch and sustain their own social initiatives. Gared has more than 13 years of experience in the corporate and development sectors. Before joining Ashoka, he was a manager with Deloitte Consulting/Braxton Associates. He spent three years in Johannesburg , South Africa where he assisted clients to improve competitiveness following the fall of apartheid. He also supported the launch of a few black empowerment investment companies. In North America, Gared's consulting work included helping the US 's largest non-profit fundraising organization develop its online strategy and building Deloitte's collaborative solutions methodology for hi-tech clients. Gared comes from Novato , California , and has received a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University . ![]() Courtney Kramer, U.S. State Department (Board Secretary) Ms. Kramer is a U.S. Public Diplomacy Foreign Service Officer who is serving in Colombia and previously served in India with the U.S. State Department. She is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and has been active in nonprofit and volunteer activities for over ten years. In particular, she has raised funds for the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University , coordinated the Combined Federal Campaign at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and volunteered with Alpha Phi Omega. Julia Cohen, Voxiva, Inc. Cohen has 20 years experience in United Nations, government, nonprofit and public health management; civic engagement, advocacy, marketing, fundraising and technology development. Cohen's diverse experience includes directing major initiatives for National Democratic Institute, YouthNOISE, Youth Vote, Rock the Vote, Planned Parenthood and the State Department among others. Currently she is leading efforts to develop global health, political and civic engagement technology applications for Voxiva. She also directs projects for AIDS relief and Tsunami recovery. Cohen is a Board member of WITNESS, founded by musician Peter Gabriel, which uses the power of video to expose human rights abuses. ![]() Jeff Huening, J.P. Morgan Jeff Huening is an Investment Banker with J.P. Morgan in Chicago , IL USA . He has his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. He has his Bachelors from Georgetown University where he was the President of the school’s community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. Manmeet Mehta, AshokaManmeet Mehta is an Associate with Ashoka: Innovators for the Public in Washington , DC . She recently completely here Masters in International Relations at the Maxwell School of Citizenship andPublic Affairs at Syracuse University . She also holds an MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of International Business in India and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Lady Shir Ram College , Delhi University in India . Manmeet is originally from New Delhi , India and has worked as a Program Development Manager at the Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation and as a Marketing Manager for the Tata Group. She brings years of business and nonprofit experience and a strong insight into Indian nonprofit organizations to the Board of Atlas Corps. Camila Payan, Organization for American StatesCamila currently works at the Organization of American States in Washington DC with the Competitiveness and Capacity Building Initiative, which aims to support countries and regions in improving their competitiveness. She is originally from Colombia and has worked in that country as part of the team at Compartamos con Colombia, an organization that supports nonprofits in their institutional strengthening and projects and with Carana, a USAID contractor, on projects to benefit small and medium sized enterprises. Camila obtained her B.S. from Georgetown University and her MSC from the London School of Economics. Lincoln D. Willis, Businessman, AttorneyMr. Willis is the Executive Manager of Willis Middletown Chevrolet in Middletown, Delaware where he runs the dealership's daily operations. He grew up in his family's central Delaware automobile business, which has grown from a single point Chevrolet dealership founded in 1951 to five franchises in three locations. A cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Willis earned his Bachelor's Degree in Government. At Dartmouth, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, several student honor societies, and was active in various service activities. Mr. Willis graduated from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary and was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 2006. During law school, he was active in the William & Mary Bone Marrow Drive, served on the staff of the William & Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review, and worked as a summer law clerk for Chief Justice Myron T. Steele of the Delaware Supreme Court. Mr. Willis brings lifelong involvement at the dealerships, six years of management experience, and eighteen years of local and national public service to his endeavors. He credits his affinity for community service to both his family and various mentors from high school through law school. As a high school freshman he was elected the youngest-ever student body president of Smyrna High School, a position he held for three years. He was elected Chairman of the National Association of Student Councils and President of the Delaware Association of Student Councils. Mr. Willis sits on various boards and is involved in community activities including Atlas Service Corps (an international non-profit which facilitates international fellowships in the citizen sector), his local chapter of Ducks Unlimited (an international conservation group), his local chapter of Rotary International, and local political election committees. Mr. Willis and his wife, Laura, reside in Clayton, Delaware. Jamie Zembruski, Attorney with Nixon PeabodyMs. Zembruski is an attorney at Nixon Peabody LLP. Her practice focuses on the financing of community revitalization. She assists clients with legal issues related to housing and community development projects with federal and state subsidies. She sits on the firm's Pro Bono Committee and also coordinates an after-school program for Boston middle school students affiliated with Citizen Schools, a Boston-based nonprofit organization. Ms. Zembruski also sits on the Mayor’s Young Bostonian Advisory Council. She assisted Atlas Service Corps, Inc. with achieving its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Ms. Zembruski previously worked on community development and youth policy for the Amy Biehl Foundation in Cape Town , South Africa ; as a program associate at the Child Welfare League of America; as a James H. Dunn Fellow in the Governor of Illinois’ Washington , D.C. office and as an archaeologist in Israel . During law school she was as an instructor at the Harrison Institute for Affordable Housing and Economic Development and a legal research and writing fellow. She graduated with a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center ; an M.P.A. from Princeton University and a B.A., magna cum laude from U.C. Berkeley. |
