The Atlas Corps World is FlatWe are excited to announce a bold and exciting expansion for Atlas Corps. We are now making every Fellowship position available to anyone in the world! The four primary application requirements are now. Candidates must (a) have a college degree (b) have 3-8 years of citizen (nonprofit/NGO/social) sector experience (c) speak, read and write English fluently. If volunteering in Colombia, you must also speak, read and write Spanish fluently (d) be committed to returning to your country after the fellowship, and (e) be of a citizenship other than where you are volunteering. Deadline Extension We are extending the deadline to May 18. However, Host organizations will begin reviewing applications almost immediately, so those who applied on time have a significant advantage and those that intend to still apply should do so earlier rather than later. Host organizations will begin interviews soon after April 21 and once qualified candidates are found, positions will be filled, so do not delay in applying. Let me repeat, apply as soon as possible if you want to be considered. Trial Opportunity We may not provide this opportunity again next year, we are considering this a trial in the second year of our pilot program. We are looking forward to see what kind of response we receive in a shorter period of time. Examples This means if a Canadian or Spanish nonprofit leader who meets the criteria wants to volunteer in Bogota, then they should apply. If a South African, Peruvian, Chinese, or Sri Lankan would like to apply to go the United States, then they should apply. Any citizen from any country may apply for any position, other than one in the country they are from. Dual-citizens are considered a special case. Of course, we cannot guarantee positions for even all of the best candidates because our Host organizations requested candidates from certain countries, however some of our Hosts are open to interviewing the best possible matches for their program. Equal Opportunity Organization This reinforces our commitment to be an equal opportunity organization. Atlas Corps is dedicated to a policy of non-discrimination in every facet of our program. We will always strive to choose the best-qualified individuals based on qualifications, regardless of race, color, age, gender, national origin, citizenship status, handicap, religion, marital status, personal appearance, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or family responsibilities. Follow the Directions! However, because we expect to receive a large number of applications from around the world by May 18, we would like to reinforce our requirement that you follow the application steps carefully. For example, your CV should be under two pages, your application not more than seven, all materials should be done on Word and emailed to apply@atlascorps.org. Our Mission The Mission of Atlas Corps is to integrate the global citizen sector in order to create a global partnership for development. We are embracing the notion that the world is flat an invite the best rising nonprofit leaders from around the world to compete for this prestigious fellowship opportunity. |
